Ways To Have A Healthy And Happy Pregnancy

By Mommy's Joy

Nothing is more precious than a newborn baby. This time should be spent preparing your body for what’s coming next and preparing your baby for life. Nutrition is more important during preganancy than at any other time. If you have a chance to relax or sleep in, do it now. Read on for more tips.

Start taking pregnancy belly pictures early. Many women like to have early pictures to compare against as the months pass. If you turn out not to want them, you don’t have to keep them, but you can’t decide later that you want to keep photographs that you never had taken.

Gasoline fumes can be harmful and unpleasant during pregnancy, try to have an attendant or friend pump gas for you. The gasoline fumes that are emitted by the gas pumps at a service station can be harmful to your baby. Cut down on the risk and see if someone can help you in this situation.

Relatively tasteless foods, like crackers, can help you feel better while you’re pregnant. Bland foods, such as crackers, will calm the nausea and vomiting. Choosing foods with more acid or grease instead has the reverse effect, adding to stomach discomfort and other digestion issues.

When you are pregnant and your stomach finally starts expanding go buy yourself some comfortable maternity clothes. Your going to be pregnant for the next several months, so you might as well be comfortable. This also makes sure that you don’t have to keep buying new clothes as you continuously expand.

When preparing for sleep while pregnant, set up a bedtime routine. Include activities that will relax you. Some relaxing activities are, drinking warm milk, reading a book or having a warm shower. When you are relaxed, it will be easier for you to fall asleep. Be sure that you have your routine set up so that you allow yourself enough time for sleep.

Taking prenatal vitamins is essential. Your body needs extra nutrition before, during and after your pregnancy. If you are planning on becoming pregnant, start taking these vitamins well before. If you are already pregnant, it’s not too late to start. You will still get the benefits of it. Keep taking them well beyond giving birth. At least until you stop breast feeding.

Be prepared to lose a few extra strands of hair in the postpartum period. Many women are not aware that this is common and are alarmed when it occurs. The extra shedding is likely due to hormonal changes and should stop within a couple of months. If it continues for a long time or you are concerned, ask your doctor to check your thyroid levels.

Pregnancy can make your smell stronger, even smells that are in your life on a daily basis can make you sick. If you encounter this problem frequently, dab some lemon or lavender essential oil on a handkerchief and stash it in your pocket or purse. You can whip it out anytime you need a relieving whiff that will spare you the stench of garbage or anything else odoriferously obnoxious to you.

Eat five or six well-balanced meals every day. This will help you to get all the nutrition that you need, as well as the calories. You should not be eating junk food all day. There is no nutritional value in that, and the only thing it will do for you is put on extra pounds.

Although pregnancy is often very uncomfortable at the end, try to enjoy it as much as possible. Eat well, stay hydrated and get some exercise. Don’t worry if you have trouble sleeping. That’s just nature’s way of preparing you for life with baby. If you need a little nap, that’s okay. After all, you are growing a new person.
