Ways To Have A Healthy And Happy Pregnancy

By Mommy's Joy

While the impending birth of a new child fills people with joy, it can also give them feelings of fear and uncertainty. There are a few tips, however, that can make a huge difference during a pregnancy. By keeping them in mind, you can make sure your pregnancy goes as smoothly as possible.

When riding in a car that has air bags, have the seat pushed back as far as possible from the dashboard. The closer you are to the dash, the closer you are to the airbags. Airbags can be dangerous to an unborn baby, though turning them off is more dangerous to you, so simply sit further away to balance these risks.

Make sure to avoid household chores that can be harmful to your unborn baby. Pregnant women should not clean with harsh chemicals, such as bleach, climb ladders, and especially should avoid cleaning a cat’s litter box. Pay attention to your surroundings and get help for any activity you think might be dangerous.

Change your eating habits if you tend to stay away from healthy foods. You want to be eating foods that have a lot of vitamins and that offer a lot of nutrition. All the food you eat your baby will be eating as well. This can effect the growth of the child.

Take a childbirth class. Even for veteran parents, these educational sessions help expectant parents feel more confident about their situation and their abilities. The classes give parents a forum to ask questions and meet other families who are experiencing the same things they are. They also provide time for each couple to talk and spend time with one another.

As a pregnant woman, it’s important that you protect your skin while you’re out in the sun. The skin of a pregnant women is quite sensitive and more susceptible to sunburn and other irritations.

Being sleepy in the first trimester is very normal. Your energy level will probably plummet as that baby is growing in leaps and bounds. Make sure that you get lots of extra rest. Go to bed early and if you can change your schedule, wake up later. Don’t be afraid to take a nap in the middle of the day either if you need it.

Check for STDs when you’re pregnant. STD’s can affect your health and your baby’s health, if you do not take care of them. Many tests for sexually transmitted diseases can be done through urine, blood or a pap smear. If you discover that you have an STD, your doctor may recommend you have a C-Section.

It is important to love and appreicate your body when you are pregnant. By not appreciating it, you could cause yourself unnecessary stress or even depression. Keep in mind that once you have your baby, you can work on getting your body to look the way it did before you were pregnant.

Once you discover you are pregnant it is wise to eliminate caffeine from your life. Caffeine increases insomnia, something you don’t need while you’re pregnant! Sometimes eating crackers can help alleviate the nausea. Keeping a healthy diet while you’re pregnant will help you to sleep well and stay strong.

When pregnant, swim! Swimming is considered a top exercise choice during late pregnancy, because it allows you to remain active while protecting you and the baby from high impact exercise like jogging or aerobics. Swimming also helps relieve many pregnancy aches and pains. Being weightless in the water can be something that soothes you as well.
