Tips For Having A Successful Pregnancy

By Mommy's Joy

One dream that many married couples all over the world strive for is to be pregnant. They want to experience the joy of motherhood and fatherhood and raise a child into adulthood. If you would like to join them in the experience and need help, then read the advice on pregnancy in this article.

Don’t stop using a seat belt in your car while driving or riding as a passenger. The danger to your baby from the seat belt is much less than the danger from you being loose in the car in the event of a crash. Make sure the belt is as low on your hips as possible, preferably underneath your belly.

Start tracking your monthly menstrual cycle. This way you will know when you ovulate. This can help you find when the best time is to try to conceive a baby. This will also help when you become pregnant because you will be better able to determine a due date for your baby.

Talk to your doctor before you plan any traveling, while pregnant. Take your prenatal medical records along with you, in case of an emergency.

Add 300-500 calories a day to your diet while you are pregnant. Don’t forget you are eating for two so you definitely need to increase your caloric intake. Make sure however that you are adding healthy calories into your diet. Adding 500 calories of junk food isn’t going to do anything to help you and the baby.

Keep a journal while you are pregnant. This will be something fun to look over when your child is grown, and it is also a great way to keep track of what is going on. If you are writing everything down, you will be able to notice quickly when any big changes occur.

Talk to friends who have given birth so you know what you are in for. It’s crucial to obtain knowledge from a person that has been pregnant beforehand since they have real life experience.

If you find it hard to stick to a healthy diet during pregnancy, ask your partner to join you as you change your old eating habits to new healthy ones. It is always easier to make the right choices when you have a helpful partner to support you. Both of you will see the benefit of eating more vegetables, whole grains and fruit.

Be sure to set aside some time just for yourself. Once you give birth, your life will suddenly get even more complicated than it is now, and you will not have a lot of time to devote to pampering yourself. Go and get a manicure, spend time with friends, or take part in your favorite hobby. You will feel more relaxed and content which will also be good for your baby.

While odd sounding, pregnant women should avoid kitty litter. Cat litter might contain toxoplasmosis, a parasite that could hurt your baby. Don’t risk your child’s health; stay away from the cat litter.

Unless a doctor advises otherwise, keep on exercising while you are pregnant. Walking, swimming and other low-impact activities are excellent ways to keep your heart healthy and your core muscles strong, which can help to alleviate back pain and may make labor and delivery easier for you.

Shortness of breath is common as women progress in their pregnancy. The baby grows and compresses the diaphragm, so there is less room to breathe. To help with this do some pelvic tilts and light stretching. Also, sleeping sitting up works well for some women as it relieves some of the pressure and allows them to breathe more freely.

As stated before in the article above, many married couples worldwide, strive for pregnancy. These couples try their best to raise children and become mothers and fathers. If you use the pregnancy advice from this article, then you too can take part in experiencing the joy of motherhood and fatherhood.
