Tips And Tricks To Make Your Pregnancy Great

By Mommy's Joy

Take the time to really enjoy your pregnancy. The nine months will seem like an eternity when you are going through it, but soon enough, you will miss that kicking in your belly. As blessed as carrying a child is, there is a lot to consider, do and deal with. This article will give you some tips on how to handle it all.

Buy new shoes. As your pregnancy progresses, the extra weight will throw off your center of gravity, putting additional pressure on your feet. This can cause both fluid retention and flat feet. Purchase some comfortable shoes that give you good support; they will alleviate some of the previously mentioned concerns.

A great thing that you can do, in order to have a healthy pregnancy, is to educate yourself. This is very important, especially to women who are pregnant for the first time. This can be done by reading books related to pregnancy and in the long run, will help not only when laboring but also, when preparing for it.

If you plan on breastfeeding your baby, make sure to do your research before you give birth. Many women have their mind set on breastfeeding and then have no idea how to do it when the time comes. You can get advice through breastfeeding classes at local hospitals or buy books that give you techniques.

Always remember your partner or spouse while you’re pregnant. More than likely, they are feeling just as nervous about the baby as you are, and they probably need reassurance, too. Spend time as a couple. You can go for a walk, out to dinner or to the movies. Get the most out of your time together before your baby arrives.

Once you have determined if you are having a boy or girl it is a good time to start decorating a room and picking out clothes. The more time you have before the baby actually arrives to prepare the better because the room will turn out nicer and you’ll have more time to select better clothes.

When you are pregnant avoid taking any over-the-counter (OTC) medication without first consulting your pharmacist. Several of the OTC medications can actually be toxic to the baby, if they are passed on through the womb. The fact is many OTC medications – can and will – be passed on through the womb!

Make sure that the prenatal vitamin you take during your pregnancy contains the recommended amount of folic acid. Folic acid is integral to prevention of neural tube issues. The cell and tissue development of the fetus depends on folic acid also.

When you become pregnant, make sure to tell your boyfriend or husband as soon as possible if he does not know already. It is under your discretion as to when you should tell your parents and friends as you should only do this when you feel comfortable in revealing this information.

Have a conversation with your baby every day. Research indicates that an growing infant responds to touch as early as ten weeks. Several weeks later, they are then aware of voice and light. Talking to your baby builds your bond.

Keep away from cat litter when you are expecting. Cat litter that has been used can cause toxoplasmosis. This parasitic disease can cause problems with your unborn baby. Don’t risk your baby’s health. Stay away from cat litter.

Now that you have seen some of the ways that you can have a happier, healthier pregnancy and also prepare for your delivery, you can rest assured that these nine months will soon be a distant memory. A treasured memory though. Don’t forget to take the time to reflect on your experience.
