Things That You Need To Know About Pregnancy

By Mommy's Joy

A lot of women experience pregnancy as a stressful and emotional stage. Understanding possible problems and knowing the warning signs can help to reduce stress and prepare you for any emergency situation. Keep reading to learn how to deal with your pregnancy.

To avoid nighttime heartburn while pregnant, eat your last meal at least two hours before you go to bed. Reclining just after eating will lead to increased acid reflux and heartburn. Also, use extra pillows to elevate your head and upper back above the level of your abdomen to reduce symptoms.

If you are having a baby, you have to be sure to exercise regularly. This makes it less likely that you will have a miscarriage, reduces the time you will spend in labor, and makes it easier to return to your regular weight after the baby is born.

Try not to pump gas when pregnant. Gas fumes are not good to breathe in when pregnant because of your baby. It’s always better to ask someone for help than risk it.

Keep exercising. Especially in those first few months when you may not feel so great, it is even more important to discipline yourself to staying active. Go for a walk in the morning or the evening. Do some light weight lifting. This will keep you body toned during pregnancy and make losing weight after the birth much easier.

Keep a journal while you are pregnant. This will be something fun to look over when your child is grown, and it is also a great way to keep track of what is going on. If you are writing everything down, you will be able to notice quickly when any big changes occur.

Drinking plenty of water is always a healthy choice and is essential during pregnancy. Many women experience dehydration which results in constipation and other difficulties related to it during pregnancy. So, make it your aim to drink forty-eight to sixty-four ounces per day and ward off the bad effects of dehydration.

When pregnant, do not get into a hot tub or sauna. Expectant mothers must avoid these places since they may get overheated, which is dangerous to the child. Certain spa oils tend to trigger contractions, especially in the initial two trimesters. Clary sage, juniper and rosemary should be avoided.

If you are working at a desk job during your pregnancy, you will need to make sure that you have lots of times during the day that you can get up and walk. Sitting down will put extra stress on your tailbone and hips, which are already absorbing a great deal more weight. Taking walks and moving around frequently will help keep this from becoming a problem.

Stock up on notepads and sticky notes and write everything down that you are supposed to remember. Many pregnant women realize that their memories are just not what they were pre-pregnancy. Counteract this development by making yourself reminders of everything before you find yourself at the store with no idea why you are there.

A multivitamin is a workhorse during pregnancy. Make sure and take them every day. Multivitamins provide essential folic acid for the developing baby. They also can reduce the risk of preeclampsia by 45% when taken regularly. Set yourself a reminder in your phone or with notes to take it on a regular basis.

You can always use more advice concerning pregnancy. Following good advice is important and helps to relieve some of the stress that comes from the unknown. Pregnancy is to be a time of happiness and joy. Make sure you have the best pregnancy possible by learning all you can.
