The Best Advice To Follow When Pregnant

By Mommy's Joy

One of the single most amazing occurrences in a lifetime is pregnancy. Despite all the nausea and other havoc that your body may go through, being pregnant is a magical experience. Take note of the following advice, in order to get through your pregnancy with a little less stress and aggravation. You will be able to enjoy this special time, even more!

Even pregnant women should be cautious and diligent about wearing sunblock during time spent in the harsh sunlight. Skin can become sensitive and rough when pregnant, so take care of it accordingly.

Eating smaller meals can help your stomach during pregnancy. Having food in your system will prevent upset stomach. Consume fresh and natural foods as often as possible. Fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as lean meats go a long way.

Try swimming as you get later into your pregnancy. Swimming is something that can really help you out later in your pregnancy because it keeps you active while easing some of the pain you may feel later in your pregnancy. The floating, weightless feeling of the water also relaxes you and your baby.

Write out your birth plan and make sure your doctor and labor coach have a copy. List out what type of medications you are willing to have and in what circumstances you want to move to different laboring methods. Of course, your birth plan is only a plan and if things need to change for the safety of your labor, don’t worry and just go with it.

Get the film and cameras ready ahead of time and get them packed in the bag. It is one of those things that everyone tends to forget and regrets later when things get started in a rush. If you have it ready in your birthing bag you’ll be able to capture those newborn pictures.

Document your pregnancy with pictures and stories so you can share them with your child as they age. Seeing pictures of how their mom looked like while she was pregnant is something children love. You can take a series of photos with captions that tell a story.

Remember that even the best-laid plans can change, including your birth plan. Try to be flexible about the details, and do not beat yourself up if everything does not happen exactly the way you envisioned it. Ultimately, you probably won’t even care that your favorite song never played or that you never made it into the birthing pool.

Keep away from cat litter when you are expecting. Cat litter can contain a disease called toxoplasmosis, which can be harmful to a growing baby. Don’t go near cat litter to make sure your baby is safe.

Wear well-fitting pregnancy clothes to accommodate the changes in your body. It can be embarrassing to buy large maternity clothes, but it’s worth it in the end. You will be happier and feel way more comfortable if you give in and get clothes that fit your growing figure.

To remember this special time in your life, consider taking pictures of your belly every week or month. You will be amazed at how much your body changes from week to week, especially in the last trimester. You will enjoy looking at these first baby pictures years from now, when your pregnancy is a distant memory.

Hopefully, this article has provided you with a bit of insight from those who have gone before you and learned how best to endure a pregnancy and celebrate the special moments. There is so much going on within your body and in your life, that it’s hard to keep everything from becoming one giant nine month blur. You can relax, put those swollen feet up and enjoy!
