Pregnancy: Making The Most Of Your Special Nine Months

By Mommy's Joy

The constraints of pregnancy may be intimidating, but thankfully with a bit of knowledge you can get through it with a little know-how. For some practical information and common sense advice, take a look at the article below.

TIP! A regular bedtime routine will ensure that you get enough sleep while you are pregnant. If you can follow a consistent bedtime routine, then your body will learn that bedtime is near.

Make sure to take care of your teeth and gums during pregnancy. Gum disease and other dental problems can actually begin during pregnancy because of increased blood flow to the mouth. This can lead to gingivitis, cavities and other mouth conditions. Brush and floss teeth twice daily, and use a good mouthwash. If you have an issue, visit your dentist immediately.

You should always get clearance from your doctor before you make plans to travel, while pregnant. Bring medical paperwork with you, in case anything does happen.

TIP! Get some good maternity clothes whenever you require them. Maternity clothes will make you feel more comfortable, and you’ll actually have clothes to wear outside your home.

For women who are constipated when they are pregnant, attempt to consume high-fiber foods like vegetables, fruits and whole wheat foods. Constipation is due in large part to hormonal changes. Constipation may result in serious gastrointestinal issues for expectant mothers, and is also simply unpleasant to experience.

When you are going to have a baby, do not overlook your partner or spouse. Most partners are just as scared and confused as you may be, if not more, and they will need to work with you to calm down. Spend time together by going to the movies or taking a walk. Enjoy each other before the baby arrives.

Pregnant Woman

Do not change your cat’s litter when pregnant. Improperly handled cat litter can infect a pregnant woman with toxoplasmosis. Felines can carry the parasite that causes toxoplasmosis. If a pregnant woman becomes infected and passes the infection to the fetus, a range of serious consequences can result, including birth defects, miscarriage, or even infant death.

TIP! Use sun protection while you are pregnant. You should also stay away from tanning beds.

If something you eat while you are pregnant causes you to have a stomach upset and diarrhea, drink fluids and telephone your physician if you are worried. Diarrhea can lead to dehydration, which may require hospitalization and IV fluids.

Learn the word “no” for those who want to stuff you with food when they see you. You need to eat more calories, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should eat all day. Saying that you’re thankful but don’t wish to eat at the time is something you need to practice doing.

Unless your doctor says otherwise, you should never neglect exercise while pregnant. You can walk, swim or stretch to increase the blood flow in your body.

Wear maternity clothing that fits you. Many woman endure the discomfort of wearing regular clothes because of the chagrin of buying maternity clothes that may not be as stylish. You will be happier and feel way more comfortable if you give in and get clothes that fit your growing figure.

TIP! To deal with constipation while pregnant, try to consume a diet that contains a lot of fiber. Fruits, whole grains and vegetables are helpful.

Making the effort to take better care of yourself while you are pregnant will certainly resolve many of the burdens of the overall experience. Use the practical information that you’ve learned here to help you face your responsibilities with confidence, making impending parenthood an even greater experience.
