Keep your water intake to six to eight full glasses of water a day. Try keeping a large water bottle with you at all times and fill it up when it empties. As we know, water is incredibly important to keeping our bodies healthy and it becomes even more important when we are drinking for two.

While pregnant, always ask for assistance when lifting heavy objects. The stress of heavy lifting may cause strain on your back and could lead to a miscarriage. Try to have someone lift those heavy objects, even if you don’t see the danger.

It is important for pregnant women to avoid eating certain fish, like shark, swordfish, and tilefish. These fish contain high levels of mercury, which can cause health problems for your baby. There are some seafood that is safe for pregnant women to eat including canned tuna, pollack, salmon, catfish, and shrimp.

A good place to find birthing experiences is online. You can learn a great deal on what to expect. You can get some facts from books, but reading a story straight from the mom is better. Be sure to avoid stories that are gruesome or sad and you will surely learn a lot and feel better about what is to come.

For a healthy baby, it is important to see your doctor on a regular schedule. There are many ways that your doctor can insure that you and your baby stay healthy during the nine months of your pregnancy. Regular visits to your doctor are the best way give you the information you need.

Be sure to see your doctor before becoming pregnant. Not only does this help establish a healthy start to your prenatal care should you become pregnant, it also allows your doctor to check for any conditions that might require special care, or worse, discover conditions that would make pregnancy dangerous.

Realize that “morning” sickness can happen at any time of the day and check with your doctor if it seems really bad. Most new parents are only affected by morning sickness during the first trimester of pregnancy. It is usually one of the first signs that a women picks up on to signify that she may be pregnant.
