Learn How To Have A Healthy Pregnancy

By Mommy's Joy

There are so many things that you may be worried about during your pregnancy, but all that you really need to relax and enjoy the experience, is some good information to help you cope. The sound advice found in the article below will give you a good start to making your pregnancy a little bit easier.

Slather on the sunscreen. You should also stay away from tanning beds. During pregnancy, your skin will become more sensitive, so avoid anything that is too harsh. Make sure that any sunscreen you use is safe for your unborn baby.

Keep your teeth in good shape and continue to visit your dentist when you are pregnant. There are many dental issues that can occur during pregnancy, like gingivitis. Be sure to brush two times a day or more and use floss and mouthwash, as well. Visit your dentist with any problems.

Ask for help with some of your daily tasks. Things that involve heavy lifting, climbing and using chemicals should be avoided when you are pregnant. They can have a negative impact on both you and your unborn baby, so do not be shy about asking your partner or other family members for assistance.

To relieve an upset stomach when pregnant, try eating several smaller meals. Always having food in your stomach can ease stomach problems. The foods you consume should be both fresh and light. You will do best with a healthful diet of lean protein sources, fresh veggies and fruit and whole grains.

It is important that a woman takes folic acid during the first three month’s of her pregnancy. Folic acid helps create a strong nervous system for the baby and prevents Neural Tube Defects, including Spinal Bifida and Cleft Palate. For women who do not want to take a folic acid pill, you can find it naturally in green vegetables, rice, and peas.

When you are in the later stages of pregnancy, especially in your third trimester, try not to travel too much. Some women think that because their due date is a month away, they will not go into labor on the train or plane, only to find themselves delivering their child with no medical assistance.

Sleeping will become harder for you during your pregnancy. During the third trimester, sleep on your left side, this will provide you with the best blood flow to your fetus, uterus and kidneys. Remember, not to lay on your back.

Take breastfeeding classes and bone up with some books prior to giving birth. Breastfeeding is best for baby but there can be a lot of pitfalls along the way that could sabotage your progress. Taking a class prior to having to actually breastfeed, will help you be calmer and more in control of feeding your new baby.

Eat plenty of fruit during your pregnancy. Many women get a boost of energy during the day from caffeine products; since these are not recommended during pregnancy, try fruit instead. People who consume bananas and apples, often notice an increase in their energy levels. This comes from the natural sugars that these fruits contain.

Make a birthing plan. Write down exactly what you will need to have the experience you want. Make sure who ever will be there when you give birth sees this plan. Making it ahead of time will allow you to make it when you are calm, and will give everyone enough time to be prepared.

As you can see, the advice in this article is a great way to worry less and enjoy things more, throughout your pregnancy. Try one tip or try them all. You will find that good information can make all the difference in how you cope with what is happening to your body as your baby grows.
