Lamaze Class: Should You Or Shouldn’t You

By Mommy's Joy

You know that the more information you have about pregnancy, the easier it will be to keep yourself on the right track for the better health of you and your baby. There is no mystery about using common sense and practical ideas to make this happen. Try some of these tips to start off right.

Make sure you adjust your intake of fluids regarding your much smaller bladder capacity. Be sure to drink lots of water during daytime hours, but reduce your intake prior to bed. This keeps you in bed and out of the bathroom.

Start taking pregnancy belly pictures early. Many women like to have early pictures to compare against as the months pass. If you turn out not to want them, you don’t have to keep them, but you can’t decide later that you want to keep photographs that you never had taken.

It is crucial that you stop smoking as soon as you find out that you are pregnant. Smoking increases the risk of miscarriages, stillbirths and baby deformities. If you are having a hard time quitting, talk to your doctor about the variety of different methods that you can use to assist you.

Start taking prenatal vitamins prior to becoming pregnant. The initial trimester of your pregnancy is when your baby starts growing his neural cord that eventually develops into a spinal cord and brain. To have a healthy baby you must get the right vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, iron and folic acid, from conception to delivery.

It is crucial for a pregnant woman to stay as stress-free as possible. Stress can cause a number of health problems, and is not good for the unborn baby. If some cases, large amounts of stress could make the baby come out too soon.

Ask for help with some of your daily tasks. Things that involve heavy lifting, climbing and using chemicals should be avoided when you are pregnant. They can have a negative impact on both you and your unborn baby, so do not be shy about asking your partner or other family members for assistance.

One of the very basic things that pregnant women should do in order to achieve a healthy pregnancy is to start changing the food habits that they have. It is very important to have a healthy variety of foods in order to properly nourish the baby.

Being sleepy in the first trimester is very normal. Your energy level will probably plummet as that baby is growing in leaps and bounds. Make sure that you get lots of extra rest. Go to bed early and if you can change your schedule, wake up later. Don’t be afraid to take a nap in the middle of the day either if you need it.

A pregnant mother should at all costs avoid any sort of drugs, whether they are alcohol, nicotine, or heavier drugs such as heroin. Your baby can and will develop a chemical dependency in the womb. This also is not to mention the possibility for birth defects. If you’re an expecting mom, stay away from drugs!

If you have constant cravings when you are pregnant, it is not a good idea to indulge all of them. Your unborn child needs to receive good nutrition through what you eat. While addressing cravings for certain junk foods may make you feel better short-term, it can ultimately be harmful to your baby. Before indulging, always ask yourself if that quick fix will do more harm than good.

As you can see from the practical ideas and common sense advice in the article above, there is no mystery about what you can do right now to make your pregnancy the very best time for you and your baby. They will keep you on track so you can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying these exciting nine months.
