Important Pregnancy Advice Women Should Know About

By Mommy's Joy

Many women that are pregnant can be overly emotional and scared, even if it is not their first time. This article will give you tips that can help you get through this rough and rocky road with ease. Remember to not over-analyze every thing you hear, and enjoy this special time that you have with your child.

Try everything you can to keep your stress low. A fetus can feel when you are under stress, and you want to keep your unborn child as comfortable as you can. Use meditation and deep breathing along with any other tricks that you have to keep calm under high pressure.

It’s okay to indulge your cravings, as long as your diet is healthy and balanced. Cravings often serve the purpose of letting you know exactly what your body really needs. Your body will burn calories a lot faster and will need more nutrients and vitamins as a result. Satisfy your cravings but do not overeat!

Before you are pregnant, it is a good idea to visit your dentist. Many times during pregnancy, your gums can be very sensitive, and a dental cleaning can be bothersome. You also will not be able to get any x-rays during your pregnancy, so it’s best to get that out of the way before hand.

Enlist the help of a doula. Doulas are people who receive training in how to be birth coaches. They are able to give you tips and support when you are in labor. Having your partner by your side is a comfort, but having someone that is trained and knowledgeable is amazing.

Check for STDs when you’re pregnant. Sexually transmitted diseases can create major issues for both your baby and yourself if they are left untreated. Certain STD tests can be done via pap smear, urine, or blood. With an STD a Cesarean section is the best option.

Taking prenatal vitamins is essential. Your body needs extra nutrition before, during and after your pregnancy. If you are planning on becoming pregnant, start taking these vitamins well before. If you are already pregnant, it’s not too late to start. You will still get the benefits of it. Keep taking them well beyond giving birth. At least until you stop breast feeding.

Learn how to do pelvic tilts and use them as you get into late pregnancy. They are a lifesaver for the back pain that will start as you get further along in your pregnancy. As an extra added benefit, they also help the baby work its way into an optimum birthing position.

Do not let stretch marks stress you out, as they are completely unavoidable for many women. While applying cocoa butter and other creams may help to lessen the itching and irritation that comes along with rapid stretching of the skin, they cannot do much to prevent the marks themselves.

Changing diapers, midnight feedings and lots of sleep deprivation are soon to take over your life. Get your rest now and take advantage of this pre-baby time. Go for a vacation or day trip to do things together as a couple before a sitter is needed to leave the house together.

Wear plenty of sunscreen while you are pregnant. You are more likely to become sunburned and get dark spots on your face during pregnancy. Try to apply a lotion with an SPF of at least 30 and stay away from tanning beds. Wear a hat and sunglasses for extra protection.

You have just read many tips on pregnancy. Some of these you have probably heard before, though some are brand new pieces of advice that can be very helpful. Use whatever you think will work best for you, and share this article with all the people in your life that could use it.
