Have A Healthy Pregnancy With These Tips

By Mommy's Joy

There is a lot of information and support forums available regarding pregnancy. However, are you aware of some of the medical things that can occur once the birth has taken place? Here are a few things that you need to know about your body once your bundle of joy has arrived.

Try everything you can to keep your stress low. A fetus can feel when you are under stress, and you want to keep your unborn child as comfortable as you can. Use meditation and deep breathing along with any other tricks that you have to keep calm under high pressure.

If you have never had a baby before, find women you can talk to about the experience. Most moms are more than happy to give you all the little details of their birth experience. This will help to answer your questions and gain a better understanding of the process.

Lots of folks get caught up in the excitement of decorating a nursery. Being around paint fumes while pregnant may not be the healthiest thing. If you are going to paint, keep the windows open. If possible, get your partner or your friends to help you prepare the baby’s room.

If you are having trouble getting a full nights rest while pregnant, try taking a nap during the day. Taking a nap can help reduce fatigue. If you are feeling tired, find a quiet spot to relax and try to nap for as long as you can. You may not end up napping for hours but any little bit helps. Try to avoid napping close to bedtime as it will cause you problems when trying to fall asleep for the night.

If you suffer from morning sickness, try sucking on sour candies like lemon drops or sipping tart lemonade or limeade. Ginger and peppermint are other natural ways to control your nausea; you can ingest these foods in the form of teas, candies and other forms that do not aggravate your symptoms.

If you are trying to conceive a baby, be sure to alert your doctor. This will eliminate the chances of them putting you on any medications or running tests that will make it harder for you to conceive or hurt your baby if you are pregnant.

One of the best ways to find relief in the late stages of pregnancy is by going swimming. You can just soak in your pool or you can even consider a water aerobics class. It will relieve many of the aches and pains that you are experiencing and it will make you feel weightless which can really help your ankles and feet.

Don’t start worrying if you aren’t “showing” your pregnancy for a while. Most new moms don’t start showing visible signs of pregnancy until they are in their 6th month. Subsequent pregnancies usually show earlier in the course of the pregnancy as the body has already been there and done that.

Do not sit for too long. By day’s end, many pregnant women will find that their feet and ankles are swollen. The extra strain on your body and the needs of your baby cause the extra fluid to accumulate. Swelling is made worse when you have to stay seated for extended periods of time, such as for a long car drive or a desk job. There are a few things you can do to fight the swelling, including soaking your feet in icy water, wearing loose socks, sleeping with your body angled to the left, and refraining from sitting with your legs crossed at the ankles.

Every woman will experience different body reactions after giving birth; however, after reading this article, you should now be aware of what may happen and thus not be completely frightened if or when these things occur. For peace of mind, rest as much as possible and seek medical advice if anything happens that is well out of the ordinary.
