Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Pregnancy

By Mommy's Joy

Pregnancy is a scary time for many. It is filled with joy and happiness, but it can also be very nerve racking as you are unsure of the future. Then, for the mother, there are changes in hormones and body that may be difficult to navigate. Not to mention the medical choices for parents. This article will give you some tips on how to get through it all.

Have your significant other make healthy changes in their life as well. As you make all these big changes in your eating habits and activities, having someone to lean on will be a big advantage. If you do it together, it will help you both keep on track with these changes.

Do not get worried if you haven’t gotten pregnant in the first year of trying. The general consensus among doctors is that it takes a year of actively trying to become pregnant before there is cause for concern. If you have been trying for a year with no success, see your doctor for an evaluation.

Keep your water intake to six to eight full glasses of water a day. Try keeping a large water bottle with you at all times and fill it up when it empties. As we know, water is incredibly important to keeping our bodies healthy and it becomes even more important when we are drinking for two.

Know premature labor signs and when you should be calling your doctor. Hopefully, it will be information that is never used. This knowledge will help you know what to do on the chance something does happen. You will have a better outcome if you plan early for preterm labor.

Many pregnant women find that eating bland foods is easier on the stomach. Snacking on these types of foods can ease nausea and help keep your stomach settled. Choosing foods with more acid or grease instead has the reverse effect, adding to stomach discomfort and other digestion issues.

Being pregnant can be hard on your body. Don’t let that get you down. Make sure that you take good care of yourself by doing lots of stretching exercises. If you can work it in, prenatal yoga is a great way to stay limber, keep moving and keep yourself fit.

Call your doctor for anything that seems “off”. You know your body better than anyone and if something doesn’t feel right, then use that intuition and give your practitioner a call. They will decide if it’s something they need to check out or not, but don’t hesitate to seek help.

A multivitamin is a workhorse during pregnancy. Make sure and take them every day. Multivitamins provide essential folic acid for the developing baby. They also can reduce the risk of preeclampsia by 45% when taken regularly. Set yourself a reminder in your phone or with notes to take it on a regular basis.

Spend your money on good bras. You will definitely need the extra support. Wearing bras that are too tight, will really hurt you, and you will be very uncomfortable. You will outgrow a couple of sizes, so get some nursing bras that are not expensive but will give you good support.

Just take one day at a time! Remember life is full of uncertainties. But, what a delight to have a baby you can call your own! Take heart! You can be successful in spite of all of the changes you have to navigate through. Take a few minutes to really think about the above advice. Apply what will be beneficial to you and your family. Congratulations on your little one!
