Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Pregnancy

By Mommy's Joy

It does not matter how old you are, or how many children you have, pregnancy is an awe inspiring, nerve racking, exciting time in your life. It is also one of the greatest miracles a woman can experience. Following are some handy hints on how to make the nine months as healthy and stress-free as possible.

Try everything you can to keep your stress low. A fetus can feel when you are under stress, and you want to keep your unborn child as comfortable as you can. Use meditation and deep breathing along with any other tricks that you have to keep calm under high pressure.

Stop smoking immediately if you have found out that you are pregnant or if are trying to become pregnant. Smoking, as we all know, is incredibly dangerous for us but it becomes even more important to quit when we are trying to take care of a new life. Talk with your doctor immediately if you are having trouble quitting.

Stay away from household cleaning products when you are pregnant. Inhaling these products when you are pregnant can cause serious health problems for you and your baby. Have someone else in your home do your cleaning, or, if you have to clean, wear a protective mask over your nose and mouth.

For first time mothers, babysit for a family member or friend. It never hurts to learn more about how to care of a baby before yours is brought into the world. In addition of learning how to care for a baby, you will know how to properly hold and feed yours.

Pass off the cat litter cleaning duties to someone else once you have found out you are pregnant. Changing cat litter while pregnant can cause you to develop toxoplasmosis. While toxoplasmosis is generally mild to the mother, it can cause serious complications in the fetus. Be safe and just avoid it entirely.

Sleep whenever you get a chance to during your pregnancy. Difficulty sleeping is one of the biggest complaints women have while pregnant. As our bodies go through these massive changes, the ease of being able to get a full night’s sleep decreases. Take naps when the opportunity presents itself.

If you are a cat owner, find a volunteer to take over changing the cat litter. Soiled kitty litter contains chemicals that are very harmful to pregnant women. If you are married, have your spouse do this job for a while, or if you are single, see if there is a neighbor or family member that can lend a hand.

Stop cleaning the cat litter box if you happen to be pregnant. Pregnant women should avoid changing a litter box because of the risk of receiving toxoplasmosis. Cats host the toxoplasmosis infection, and if it passes to an unborn fetus it can cause stillbirths, birth abnormalities, and miscarriages.

If you are having trouble getting a full nights rest while pregnant, try taking a nap during the day. Taking a nap can help reduce fatigue. If you are feeling tired, find a quiet spot to relax and try to nap for as long as you can. You may not end up napping for hours but any little bit helps. Try to avoid napping close to bedtime as it will cause you problems when trying to fall asleep for the night.

Always ensure that if you have doubts or concerns about any part of your pregnancy, that you contact your doctor as soon as possible. We are confident the the above tips will fit you ease any stress you may have had. So, sit back and enjoy the ride, and the blessing that will arrive at the end.
