By Mommy's Joy

Whether you are having your first child or your fourth, you will be sure to have a lot of doubts and questions about pregnancy. Everyone is very concerned during this time about what they should be doing. This article has some great tips on how to pass through a pregnancy as easily and smoothly as possible.

Wear sunscreen while pregnant, even if you didn’t really require it before. Also, avoid tanning beds. You skin is more sensitive during pregnancy and burns are more likely. Still, when you do put on sunscreen, make sure to wear a brand that was approved by your doctor.

Check your workplace and home for chemicals that are potentially harmful to pregnancy, and immediately get rid of them. Replace all artificial, chemical cleaning supplies with natural alternatives. Once you have had the baby, make sure these chemicals are not in your home to ensure they don’t cause any harm.

To get rid of an upset stomach when you’re in your first trimester, eating smaller meals more frequently is recommended. Having food in your system will prevent upset stomach. Eat fresh, light foods that won’t weigh on your stomach. Lean meats, vegetables and fruits do wonders.

Avoid using over the counter medicines for digestive issues like heartburn, upset stomach and constipation. The more medicines we keep out of our bodies during pregnancy the better. Ginger tea, acupuncture and peppermint oils have all been shown to help with pregnancy stomach issues.

Find out if you’re pregnant as soon as possible. Sometimes women neglect to do this in a timely manner and may find that their pregnancy is complicated because they didn’t get the care they needed soon enough.

You should try to eliminate or limit caffeine while you are pregnant. Caffeine can interfere with your ability to get the restful sleep that is essential to stay healthy. Eating a few crackers can be an effective way to reduce nausea and allow you to sleep better. A balanced, healthy diet is a little difficult to maintain, but it’s important for good sleeping routines and should be adhered to closely.

Log your daily food intake. This allows you to know that you’re eating the nutrients you need. Taking this list to the doctor will also come in handy for him or her to look over as well.

Listen to soft music and take a hot shower before bed time. Sleep can become more difficult the further along that you get. Avoid sleep aids and other pills by putting your body and your mind into a restful state before you even get into bed. A hot shower and soothing music will do this for you.

Make sure that you communicate with your partner (if you have one) about your feelings and your needs. You may know that you need to be touched or loved more often to feel supported, but they don’t. You have to tell them what you need before you can expect to receive it.

Do not let stretch marks stress you out, as they are completely unavoidable for many women. While applying cocoa butter and other creams may help to lessen the itching and irritation that comes along with rapid stretching of the skin, they cannot do much to prevent the marks themselves.

Take some “me time” every once in a while. You won’t have much time for yourself after your baby is born; so take the time now to pamper yourself. Try to take some time out to do something for you, like hanging out with your friends, doing an activity you want to do, or even getting yourself a manicure. You’ll be able to take off a few months to spend solely with your baby without feeling neglected.

When you are pregnant every kick feels harder and every craving feels dramatic. The tips in this article can provide you with the extra information you need to help with all the steps of your pregnancy. Don’t forget to let your husband read them; he will have many questions as well.
