When you’re expecting a baby, have someone else pump the gas for you. Gas fumes are not good for you or your baby. You should ask for help rather than taking a risk.

Your nutrition now that you are pregnant, is more important than ever. Not only are you needing more energy and strength just to get through the day, but your baby also needs lots of vitamins and minerals to develop properly. Make sure you eat several solid meals each day and work in items from each major food group.

When you are nearing the final stretch of your pregnancy, it’s a good idea to tour the place where you will be giving birth. This will make you feel comfortable when that wonderful day comes. If it’s an option, look into a couple different places. Your chosen destination should give you everything you and your partner need when you’re in labor.

Don’t forget your partner or spouse when you’re pregnant. The chance is that they are nervous as well about your baby being born, so they need to be reassured as much as you do. Spend lots of time doing things together, from long walks to watching movies. Get the most out of your time together before your baby arrives.

Should you contract a cold or virus while pregnant, consider non-medicated approaches for help. Over-the-counter medications can often hurt a fetus. Natural remedies abound on the Internet, making it easy to deal with nausea, constipation or heartburn. Your doctor can also help.

Once you find out that you are pregnant, make sure that you find a doctor or midwife that you are comfortable with. Many times, women choose the first doctor that they see and end up having an unpleasant experience with them. Ask friends and family if they know of a good, reliable midwife.

Be sure that you understand what all the indications of a premature labor are. Read up on this as much as you can, so that you know when you need to call your doctor.
